This library offers artists and designers eighty sets of rich, detailed color images, including many new shots taken specifically for this edition. The entire collection is provided solely as a pictorial resource for creative synthesis and manipulation to produce imaginative new graphic designs. To obtain the highest quality source images, all original color slides were scanned into RGB data with Dainippon Screen╒s renowned precision scanner.

SINGLE USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
By using this MIXA CD-ROM PRODUCT(S), you agree to the following SINGLE USER LICENSE AGREEMENT:
A. DEFINITIONS.
1. "YOU" means the purchaser or user of the MIXA CD-ROM PRODUCT(S).
2. "US" or "WE" means DAINIPPON SCREEN MFG. CO., LTD.
3. "SOFTWARE" means any computer programs included within the MIXA CD-ROM PRODUCT(S).
4. "IMAGES" means any picture or pictures on the MIXA CD-ROM PRODUCT(S) and includes both entire images and/or any parts and includes any forms thereof including, but not limited to, all digital, analog, print and film forms or versions of the IMAGES.
5. "TRANSFER" means to make the IMAGES or SOFTWARE available directly or indirectly from YOU to a third party and shall include sale, resale, transfer, distribution, rental, assignment or loan thereof.
6. "CD-ROM" means the MIXA CD-ROM PRODUCT(S) (compact disk) containing the IMAGES and SOFTWARE which are the subjects of this AGREEMENT.
7. "REGISTRATION CARD" means the card that YOU are required to fill out and mail to US in order to use the CD-ROM. If YOU do not have a card, please call US immediately and We will send YOU one.
B. YOUR RIGHTS.
WE grant YOU a license to use the CD-ROM in accordance with the terms of this AGREEMENT. Copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the IMAGES and SOFTWARE belong to and shall remain with US or our licensers and are protected by the copyright laws of Japan, the United States or international treaty provisions.
C. YOU MAY:
1. upon completion of the required REGISTRATION CARD, use one copy of the CD-ROM on a single computer or CPU, provided that it is used on only one computer or with one user at a time,
2. modify the IMAGES and incorporate them into your personal and internal company materials, and
3. except as limited below, copy and modify the IMAGES and distribute copies thereof, in whole or in part, without crediting our copy right notice, provided that YOU add significant and primary modifications thereto and incorporate them in your advertising and promotional materials that YOU design for yourself or your clients.
D. YOU MAY NOT.
1. use or TRANSFER the IMAGES or SOFTWARE and copies thereof with the intent or result that such use or TRANSFER shall be in any form of a library or catalog of IMAGES or which is in anyway similar conduct to damage our profit or competes with US or the CD-ROM;
2. TRANSFER the IMAGES or SOFTWARE to third parties through the use of on-line services or networks,
3. grant any third parties sublicense the right hereunder, and
4. use any trademarks, trade names or copyright notices belonging to US, without prior written consent of US.
E. TERM.
This AGREEMENT shall continue for as long as YOU use the CD-ROM and YOU are not in violation of the AGREEMENT. If YOU violate any terms of this AGREEMENT, YOUR rights to use the CD-ROM shall immediately terminate without further notice from US.
F. WARRANTY.
WE warrant that the storage disk of CD-ROM will be free from defects in material and workmanship for 90 days from delivery. If such defect occurs, WE will, at our option, replace it or refund your purchase price. This is your sole and exclusive remedy for a breach of this warranty.
G. LIMITATION OF WARRANTIES AND LIABILITY.
1. Except for the express warranty above, the SOFTWARE is provided on an "AS IS" basis, without any other warranties, or conditions, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantable quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
2. Neither WE nor our dealers or suppliers shall have any liability to YOU or any other person for any incidental, special or consequential damages whatsoever, including but not limited to loss of revenue or profit, lost or damaged data or other commercial or economic loss. Our maximum aggregate liability to YOU, and that of our dealers and suppliers shall not exceed the amount paid by YOU for the CD-ROM.
3. WE shall not be liable to YOU or to third parties for any damages with respect to the IMAGES or use or modifications of them. YOU agree that YOU are responsible for any damages to third parties that have been caused through your use, modification or distribution of the IMAGES.
Warning
Do not use or storage CD-ROMs in areas exposed to high temperature and/or high humidity and/or direct sunlight. Do not try to write or exert any pressure on a disk's label with pointed objects such as pencils or ball-point pens.
Because serious defects, malfunctions or other problems may occur.
Be careful not to scratch, damage, soil or stain the data side of the disk opposite the label.
About image data
Ñ File format and data size
All the image data is 24 bit RGB in JPEG format. The size of each image is 2000 x 2500 pixels & , equivalent to a 4 x 5 inch color slide.
Ñ Changing image resolution
The standard 350 dpi resolution is quite suitable for the 175 LPI screen ruling generally required for commercial color printing. When you want to change an image's size without altering its original resolution, we recommend that before severing the linkage and adjusting the size parameter, you execute "Bicubic" interpolation. As a general rule, magnified image quality deteriorates less when the magnification ratio is set to an integer value
Ñ Unsharp Mask
The image data encoded in this product were generated by scanning high quality color originals with our Professional scanner. During scanning, no attempt was made to electronically enhance the initial sharpness of the originals with, for example, scanner sharpness (USM) effects. Such data enhancement can impair other aspects of the image that could be important when you later try to manipulate and reproduce it. When enhancing sharpness with Photoshop, please also remember that the optimum USM value will differ depending on the motif of the image.
Ñ Browser
To browse images, use a freeware or off-the-shelf browsing utility. The CD-ROM contains the Kudo Image Browser for Macintosh. For details, refer to the "README" file in the Viewer folder.
